Ebo Landing St. Simons Is. Dunbar Creek 31°11’17.9″N 81°23’05.4″W 6th Ave/Palmetto St. A group of enslaved Africans, the Biafrans, drowned as they walked chained into Dunbar Creek. Supposedly you can hear them chant. For people who have never lived by the marsh, it can make a very convincing rustling ambiance that can sound remarkably like speech. No Investigation File.

Mary de Wanda/ Mary the Wanderer/ Mary McRae at Airport Rd near the Island Club St. Simons Is. This is reportedly a repeating phantasm in the form of a white apparition either partial or full bodied and sometimes carrying a lantern and walking with a horse. She is supposedly searching for her romantic partner, possible Raymond Demere, Jr., who is said to have drown, possibly in the hurricane of 1824. Unable to find him, she committed suicide by drowned herself in the rough waters, although she may have drowned in the storm surge. No Investigation File.

Long Arms Retreat Ave St. Simons Is. The story purportedly dates to before the Civil War from Retreat Plantation of ghosts with long arms who haunt the live oaks that line the road. Additionally, the person who looks too closely and sees the ghost will be the next to die. It is possible that people with active imaginations are seeing the Spanish moss. No Investigation File

Lora de Cook Pot Demere Rd near East Beach Causeway St. Simons Is 31°08’54.6″N 81°22’52.2″W. Supposedly, you can smell food cooking and sometimes see a woman cooking over a large kettle/pot. No Investigation File.

Ghost Lights of Rachael Lanier Christ Church Cemetery 6500Frederica Rd St. Simons Is 31°13’10.0″N 81°23’11.4″W. While there not been reposts of an actual apparition, people have reported seeing a flickering candle light in the cemetery. Supposedly, this light is a candle that has been light by the deceased husband of woman who was afraid of the dark. There is no active Investigation File, but It has been witnessed by our crew.

Murder of Frederick Osborne St. Simons Is. Lighthouse 610 Beachview Dr, St Simons Island, GA 31522 31°08’02.4″N 81°23’36.0″W. on 22FEB1880 the head keeper F. Osborne was shot and killed by his assistant keeper John Stevens on the front lawn of the lighthouse after a disagreement. Some have reported hearing footsteps. Ghost Friars 805 Ocean Blvd St. Simons Is. Witness stated she saw three people in black robes and wide brimmed hats who she speculates were Franciscan friars. The island does have a history of Spanish missionary occupation during the post-contact period prior to English colonization. No Investigation File.

Frederica River Ghost Ship near Epworth by the Sea St. Simons Is. witness stated she saw a ghost ship and has heard of others who have seen the same ship described as a sailing ship with a pirate flag. Some associate it with the pirate Abraham Argamont. Argamont did conduct raids on Spanish missions in 1683. No Investigation File.

Samuel Spencer Jekyll Island Club Hotel Annex Apt 8 371 Riverview Dr Jekyll Is. The witness, an engineer, found his papers strewn around the room after leaving it. Moreover, one of his engineering designs had been altered in such a way that fixed a problem in the design. No Investigation File.

JP Morgan Jekyll Island Club Hotel 371 Riverview Dr Jekyll Is. People have reported smelling cigar smoke which is purportedly associated with the apparition of JP Morgan. No Investigation File.

GEN Lloyd Aspinwall Jekyll Island Club Hotel 371 Riverview Dr Jekyll Is. Witnesses have reported seeing the apparition of General Aspinwall walked the veranda near the Aspinwall room. No Investigation File.

Suicide at the Ritz Ritz Theater 1530 Newcastle Street Brunswick. Purportedly, a woman named Kat committed suicide in one of the upstairs apartments. Witnesses have reported hearing noises and footsteps near the stairs leading to the upstairs and at least 1 sighting of a female apparition on stage. No Investigation File.

BPD Officer Massey Old City Hall 1228 Newcastle St Brunswick. on April 12, 1890 William Baldwin got into an altercation with BPD Officer R.L. Massey and while attempting to flee shot Ofc Massey who died of the wound. Witnesses reported hearing foot steps, faucets turning on, TV turning on and off, doors slamming, and chairs moving. the bullet hole is still visible behind the drywall on the middle landing even after the building’s restoration. During a 2011 investigation there were considerable noises which sounded like foot traffic, a possible blood trail was found, and a pen was moved. Investigation File 2011JAN09-31520.
